A delightful Maremman town, Sorano is a village full of beauty and magic. One of the most symbolic towns of the Area del Tufo (Tuft Area), Sorano was built on tuft rock hill, which gives it both a unique look and fascinating and mystical atmosphere.

A visit to Sorano is an enjoyable and unique experience thanks to its incredible richness of grand monuments, churches and ancient palazzi. Amongst the town’s treasures is the Orsini Fortress, the impressive residence of the powerful Orsini family during the Renaissance. Other charming monuments include the Merli and Sopra Doors, which were the entry ports to the ancient fortified city, the Collegiate of St Niccolo, the Leopoldino Boulder and the Comitale Palazzo.
